Manufacturing Philosophies
Aero-K prides itself on maintaining healthy long-term agreements with its customers. This is made possible by continually improving our processes and procedures in adherence with the requirements of ISO 9002. We are able to consistently provide excellence in all aspects of manufacturing from receiving to delivery. How do we do it? Aero-K has adopted the Kaizen philosophy of manufacturing, which employs lean manufacturing practices such as cell utilization, Kanban implantation and one-piece throughput. By developing Kanbans and other visual tools, our efficiency has improved dramatically while decreasing down time and increasing production rates.
By placing workstations in a u-shaped cell, we allow our operators to move the parts from one workstation to the next in proper sequence. This reduces production time. We also make sure all the tools needed by the operators are available at their workstation to eliminate the extra time needed to check tool inventory. Our operators have everything necessary at their fingertips to complete an operation.

Kaizen also allows flexibility in the type of parts we can run in our cells, making us more profitable and eliminating the old "batch work" ways of thinking and producing. Our operators are cross-trained to work on multiple workstations allowing us to streamline personnel and other overhead costs while maintaining our production rates. Everyday we look for new and enhanced methods of reducing costs, increasing capabilities, and doing all of this without sacrificing quality. That is what makes Aero-K successful and a valued partner in the industry.
